Halloween Poke Cake

1 package fudge marble cake mix (regular size)

2 packages (3 ounces each) orange gelatin

1 cup boiling water

1/2 cup cold water

1/2 cup butter, softened

3 1/2 cups confectioners sugar 

1/3 cup baking cocoa

1/4 cup milk

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

12 to 15 candy pumpkins

Prepare and bake cake according to package directions, using a greased 13-in. x 9-in. baking pan. Cool on a wire rack for 1 hour.

In a small bowl, dissolve gelatin in boiling water; stir in cold water. With a meat fork or wooden skewer, poke holes in cake about 2 in. apart. Slowly pour gelatin over cake. Refrigerate for 2-3 hours.

For frosting, in a small bowl, cream butter until fluffy. Beat in the confectioners' sugar, cocoa, milk and vanilla until smooth. Spread over cake; top with candy pumpkins. Cover and refrigerate until serving. Yield: 12-15 servings.

Beware of Linkedin Scam

There is a scam that's been going around for a couple of years and you need to be aware.

The scam doesn't come from LinkedIn but scammers use the LinkedIn reputation to hurt many people.

These scammers will somehow e-mail you, making you think you have a LinkedIn request. What happens is...when you click on the link, your system gets infected with a virus.

Not good!

To make sure the e-mail you get is real, mouse over the “LinkedIn" links in the email. 

They should match the links displayed at the bottom of your email window as you move your mouse back and forth.

 If you’re still not quite sure if it's legit or not... just log in to your LinkedIn account and check.

Freelance

If you have the talent and financial ability to weather the storm...freelance work may be for you. It can be very profitable!

Many people use their secretarial skills, computer skills...many things to work for people and/or companies by contract as opposed to being a full time employee.

The biggest problem is most freelance work is never long going or full time. So, if you're financially strapped freelance may not be for you. But, if this is a supplement income or if your significant other brings in a stable income...or  MAYBE you do so well you have people waiting in line for your services...you should GO FOR IT !

You can basically name your own prices and work for yourself ! 

You can usually set your own hours, dress code and where you work.

 People want the job done efficiently and correctly, so, chances are they aren't concerned about "how you do it!"

They only want you to get it done!
